Facilitated Regional Consultation Session (limited places, up to 20 people)
11:30am – 1:00pm AEST

Following the forum, interested attendees are invited to participate in a facilitated discussion exploring late-life housing in regional communities, including the housing choices older Australians want, the barriers they face, and opportunities to improve housing outcomes as they age.

Lunch will be provided from 1:00pm – 2:00pm for participants attending the consultation session.

This facilitated discussion will explore:

  • Housing preferences and aspirations of older Australians in regional communities
  • The availability, suitability and affordability of housing options for later life
  • Challenges and barriers to ageing well in the right home and location
  • Gaps in housing supply, design, accessibility and support services
  • How lived experience can inform National Seniors Australia's advocacy and research
  • Insights that will contribute to the Late-Life Housing in the Regions: Designs, Desires and Deficits project and inform future policy recommendations to government

Cost: Free event

Travel support: In recognition of current cost-of-living pressures, including rising fuel costs, NSA is offering a $20 fuel gift card to attendees travelling more than 30km to attend the forum. Fuel cards will be provided to those attending both the forum and consultation session at the conclusion of the consultation upon presentation of proof of address. Please note, one fuel card will be issued per person or couple.

Registration is essential.

Places for the Regional Consultation are limited. This is an opportunity for older Australians to share their experiences and help shape future housing policy and advocacy for regional communities.
